I am a public health professional with special interest in maternal and child health and nutrition. I have over ten years’ experience in teaching and research in maternal and newborn/child caring practices including WASH at health facilities especially in maternity and newborn care units, nutrition particularly breastfeeding and complementary feeding practices.
My main research areas include maternal and child health and nutrition, diet related non-communicable diseases in low- and middle-income countries, Health and nutrition policies and population dietary habits.
I am currently leading the implementation of a project dab leave ‘no new born child behind’ at the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH) in collaboration with TTH and the Institute of Global Health at the University of Heidelberg, Germany. Another grant has been obtained to implement a project entitled “Improving timeliness of COVID-19 tests results through the use of point of care device” in collaboration of the above mentioned two institutions, which I am key member.
