Background
Ing. Prof. Abdul-Ganiyu Shaibu is an Associate Professor in Soil and Water Engineering with 21 years of experience working in UDS. He had his MSc. and PhD Degrees in Soil and Water Engineering between 2004 and 2015. Since 2016, he has been the Head of Department of Agricultural Engineering and from August 2020-August 2022 Vice-Dean of School of Engineering. He was currently (in August 2022) appointed as the Dean of School of Engineering and also since March 2020 up to date has been an Adjunct Researcher in the Kazuhiko Takeuchi Centre for Sustainability and Resilience (KTCSR). He is also the Academic programmes Coordinator of West African Centre of Water, Irrigation and Sustainable Agriculture (WACWISA). His research interests are in agricultural water resources studies, development and management as well as pedological studies for agricultural development. He has over thirty publications from both peer reviewed Journals, Book and a Chapter in a Book. He has also collaborated on several research and developmental projects, funded by JICA, JIRCAS, World Bank, WHO, GIZ, etc., with local and international partners.
