GUSA Executives Meet UDS Vice-Chancellor to Congratulate Him on Sports Achievement
The Executive Committee of the Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) has paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor of the University for Development Studies (UDS) to congratulate him on the university’s recent sports achievement and to commend his unwavering support for sports development.
The delegation, led the Vice-President of GUSA, Mr. Pascal, lauded UDS for bringing honour to Ghana through its impressive performance at the World University Football Competition organised by the International University Sports Federation (FISU).

Speaking during the meeting, the Vice-President of GUSA acknowledged the instrumental role played by the Vice-Chancellor in strengthening university sports and creating an enabling environment for student-athletes to thrive. He expressed appreciation for the leadership’s commitment to nurturing talent and investing in sports infrastructure and participation.
Mr. Pascal emphasized that “chiefs do not work alone,” noting that while the Vice-Chancellor’s visionary leadership was pivotal, the success achieved was a collective effort involving the sports team, coaching staff, management, and the entire university community. He further stressed the importance of providing students with equal opportunities to explore and exhibit their talents beyond the lecture halls.

According to him, sports remain an essential component of holistic education and national development, and universities must continue to create fair and supportive platforms for students to excel both academically and athletically.
The GUSA delegation assured the Vice-Chancellor of the Association’s intention to formally honour him for his immense contributions to university sports. They also encouraged him to sustain his efforts in advancing sports development for the benefit of students and the institution at large.

The visit reaffirmed the strong and cordial relationship between GUSA and UDS, underscoring their shared commitment to promoting excellence in university sports across Ghana.
