The University for Development Studies (UDS) has appointed Professor Mohammed Muniru Iddrisu as its new Vice-Chancellor, bringing to the position a wealth of experience in academia, research, and university leadership.

Professor Iddrisu is a distinguished Ghanaian academic and Professor of Mathematics, whose career spans over two decades of teaching, research, and service within Ghana’s higher education sector. With a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Mathematics, Professor Iddrisu has built a formidable academic reputation grounded in rigorous research and intellectual contribution. His scholarly work focuses on mathematical analysis, particularly in areas such as inequalities, special functions, fractional calculus, and applied mathematical modelling.

He has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in reputable international journals, contributing to advancements in fields including gamma and digamma function inequalities, fractional-order mathematical models, elliptic curve cryptography, and computational mathematics. His research also extends to real-world applications, including epidemiological modelling and data systems, reflecting a balance between theoretical depth and practical relevance.
